The farmers from Chuponal have been producing cacao in the same way for 400 years in very small plantations, he majority of them are grouped in Co-ops.
The production of this cacao is very scarce and for this reason only few master chocolate makers have got the privilege to make chocolate out it.
The beans have a dominant cacao flavour profile with aromas of wood and hints of sweet fruits, coffee and nuts.
Chuponal is a town in the plains of Venezuela located in the Pedraza Municipality, in Barinas state at 202 meters above sea level.
